CITY OF TREBINJE KAYAKING TOUR
If you visit Trebinje, a city that once charmed Napoleon, you don’t want to miss the most spectacular gem of nature that this region has to offer – the Trebišnjica River.
The Trebišnjica River is the longest sinkhole river in the Balkans and is one of the longest sinkholes in the world. Trebišnjica River Basin area is one of the richest in precipitation in Europe. Thanks to its peaceful flow and crystal-clear water, this river is an ideal location for many sports activities such as diving, fishing, and of course - kayaking.

Trebisnjica is a very calm river and it is very easy to paddle and enjoy while observing the river and its surroundings.
Besides many bridges in Trebinje, the one that steals the glory is, by all means, a 16th- century masterpiece - Arslanagić bridge (national monument). You can go kayaking right under it / photo copyright © Slavenko Vukasović
Trebisnjica is a very clean river and rich in life. It is home to some endemic species, such as ‘gaovica’ (species of ray-finned fish) and famous olm (proteus), which lives in underground river streams.

Short description of the tour: We start from the center of Trebinje and row upstream towards the Studenac picnic area. Along the way you will see many sights of the city of Trebinje such as: Ivo Andrić Bridge, Stone Bridge, Trebinje Old Town, Arslanagića Bridge (national monument) and the traditional Trebišnjica watering mills.
Estimated time of return: 2 PM (Hotel Leotar)
ARRANGEMENT INCLUDES:
- Transport from Hotel Leotar to the starting point of the kayak tour (2 minutes drive in one direction)
- Fully-equipped and experienced English speaking kayak guides
- Kayak rental
- Kayak life vests
- Waterproof bags
ARRANGEMENT DOES NOT INCLUDE :
- Breakfast (on request at restoran Studenac),
- Optional tipping to leader/guide and local staff,
- Souvenirs and items of a personal nature (sodas, alcoholic beverages, etc.)
WHAT YOU NEED:
Bring water, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen with protection factor, spare clothes, sneakers or slippers to help you get out of the kayak
Options: Water bottles could be provided by HERZ Adventures on request.
Trebinje has 260+ sunny days a year. Still, organizer reserves the right to cancel the trip without prior notice due to bad weather conditions.
