KABO HIKING TOUR
(Orjen Nature Park)
Orjen is transboundary Dinaric Mediterranean limestone mountain range, located between southernmost Bosnia and Herzegovina and southwestern Montenegro. Its highest peak is Veliki kabao, which stands at 1895 m (6225 ft). The Orjen Peak is the highest peak in the Sub-Adriatic Dinarides. The massif of Orjen lies east to south-east of Trebinje in Bosnia and Herzegovina and north-west of Risan in Bay of Kotor (Boka Kotorska). At the main summit of Orjen and the surrounding ridges and high plateaus the action of quaternary glaciation is evident.

Orjen is waterless and at the same time with 4762 mm / m² it has the highest precipitation in Europe.

Departure time: 8 AM (Hotel Leotar)
Short description of the tour: We start from the mountain lodge on Ubli (1000 m above sea). We walk across the beautiful meadows, and then uphill through the pine forest all the way to the lookout point from which there is a fantastic view of the largest peaks of the Orjen massif and the Adriatic Sea.
Estimated time of return: 2 PM (Hotel Leotar)
ARRANGEMENT INCLUDES:
- Transport from Trebinje to the starting point of the trail and later back to Trebinje (25 minutes drive in one direction)
- Fully-equipped and experienced English speaking sertified mountaineering guides
ARRANGEMENT DOES NOT INCLUDE :
- Lunch (on request),
- Optional tipping to leader/guide and local staff,
- Souvenirs and items of a personal nature (sodas, alcoholic beverages, etc.)
WHAT YOU NEED:
Hiking boots, water (min. 1 litre), hat, sun cream
Options: Water bottles could be provided by HERZ Adventures on request.
Trebinje has 260+ sunny days a year. Still, organizer reserves the right to cancel the trip without prior notice due to bad weather conditions.
The use of alcohol and drugs during our tours is strictly prohibited.
